There really is beauty in finding comfort and rest in the midst of hectic schedules and stress. I remember being so busy at work a few days ago while I was managing my tasks in the office, that I wasn’t able to maximize my breaks in between and enjoy my rest time. Moreover, every time I would arrive at home, I’d always feel exhausted and I’d sometimes end up falling asleep.
But, it was amazing because during one of my busy days at work, God spoke to me through a Google logo and encouraged me to rest, relax, and not panic. When I saw the logo, I remembered Bible verses about resting and not worrying, and it was very enlightening. :)
This Thursday’s tune is an excellent reminder for me to draw nearer to God and find rest in Him, especially during my ‘busiest days’. I hope that this song encourages you as well.
Brandon Heath’s “I Will Lay You Down”
You’ve got the whole world on your shoulders
And it’s more than you can bear
I hear you calling for some help
But is there anybody there?
Well I’m here to let you know
This was never meant for you
I know what you’re going through
Come to me weary now
And I will lay you down
Throw all your cares aside
You will never be denied
Come set your burden free
You will be safe with me
Come to me weary now
I will lay you down
So don’t you worry ’bout a thing
I’m gonna get you through the night
I know you’re scared but it’s gonna be alright
And if you wake before the light
Don’t be afraid, just call my name
I’ll hear you pray, I’m on my way, yeah, yeah
So come to me weary now
And I will lay you down
Throw all your cares aside
You will never be denied
Come set your burden free
You will be safe with me
Come to me weary now
I will lay you down
Everything’s alright cause I am on your side
And if you need to you can hide in me
Cause all you need to know
I will never let you go
I’m the lover of your soul
So come to me weary now
And I will lay you down
Throw all your cares aside
You will never be denied
Come set your burden free
You will be safe with me
Come to me weary now
I will lay you down
It says in Exodus 33:14 “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Encourage yourself one tune at a time. :)
